Why Does Kids City Exists?
Kid’s City is here for two main reasons. The first is to help cultivate an understanding and love for Jesus in your child’s life. Our volunteers love to work with children and are excited about providing an atmosphere in which your child will feel safe and loved. Secondly, Kid’s City aims to provide support to parents as you cultivate a culture of faith in your home. We believe it is primarily the parent’s job to spiritually guide their children and we want to help in that task however we can.
Get to know our streets (classrooms)
Patrick Street (newborn-18mo)
Patrick Street is a safe, calm environment for babies and nursing mothers. Patrick Street volunteers will sing to and pray over your child, as well as facilitate age appropriate playtime.
Maxwell Avenue (18mo-3years)
Maxwell Avenue is a classroom designed to harness the excitement and energy of our youngest toddlers. With activities, songs, and brief stories designed to capture their attention, we hope to start the conversation and familiarity with Jesus.
Church Street (3-5 year olds)
Children in this classroom are taught about Jesus through the Gospel Story Bible (old: Children Desiring God curriculum). This curriculum teaches children that God loves them through story time, crafts, and play. In this room, children will be provided a snack. If your child has a food allergy, please tell the volunteer at the Kid’s City welcoming table. Our volunteers will notify you during service if you are needed to assist your child in the bathroom or with a diaper change.
Market Street (Ages 5 years old-and up)
Children in the Market Street classroom will attend service until the sermon begins. We feel it is important for children of this age to be apart of our corporate worship assembly, so they will also attend the Gathering in its entirety once a month. . We want to help build their foundation of faith by engaging them in our times of singing worship songs and reading liturgy. Once dismissed from service, children will walk with their teacher to their classroom. Here, children are engaged in a lesson from the Jesus Storybook Bible curriculum. This curriculum journeys through the bible from beginning to end, tying each story to Jesus and how God planned to save us.
